Alternatives to Mercury Fillings and other Restorative Options

.

Once your tooth has been drilled you will have to decide what kind of material you want your dentist to place in the cavity.

The options are either fillings placed directly in the hole or manufactured by technicians and fitted at a second appointment.

If too much of your tooth substance had to be sacrificed you will have to opt for a crown that also comes in different materials.

Should the tooth need extraction you either face a fixed solution such as an implant (an artificial root drilled into your bone) or you opt for a bridge.

If your budget is somehow limited you want to consider a removable denture.

Whatever option you favour make sure you are fully aware of its advantages and downsides.
